Suиdядiиег сhris Lol I bought my own record because I misplaced my hard drive with the master files and needed the lossless audio to upload to Spotify - but even years later I still think failure burden is my favorite guitar part I’ve written, it’s that last part where the I tri comes back I to that heavy breakdown to close is what really slaps my hamms Favorite track: Failure Burden.

Recorded Live, one take, no heavy edits and no bullshit.
After shelving our last full length LP The Eternal Perspective due to member issues and financial problems, we went on a hiatus to demo new material that would be committed to us staying as a 3 piece band for good.

This album is about as full of venom as we could make it, recorded on literally a shoestring budget, we were only able to fit 3 of the dozen songs we wrote as a new live set.
The purchase also includes some lyric images fitted for social media sharing and a lyrics PDF.

This is our first album to feature Adam Alig returning to vocals after a brief stint in 2007 a few years after leaving Torturing Mary and in between Explosive Dickhole records.

It is the first release we have had that has received positive press and the most attention we have had so far.

The opening track Blackened Veins, a tribute to our friends death, was featured alongside Ion Dissonance and Vermin Womb on the Compilation record- Volume Two by The MathCore Index, a page dedicated to a very particular set of sounds and bands.

    ToiletOvHell.Com writer "Spear" reviews ---
"I’ll admit I might be taking some liberties as to what constitutes technical death metal to squeeze these guys in here, but I don’t think you’ll care once you hear it. Sundrainer play a hideous, dissonant mutation of grindcore with the intent of capturing the modern human experience in musical form. …I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit more than lives up to its name; its atmosphere is utterly dismal and chaotic, and the intricacy of their music adds to the album’s anxious tension in some subtle ways.

As is the case with any grindcore band, emotion is intrinsically linked with the music; as such, the technical elements aren’t the focus, and they feel more like a side effect of an emotion being portrayed at a specific time. This is a good thing, as it makes the effort feel more genuine- when the guitar whips out those crazy lines in between the staggering time signatures in “Failure Burden,” it fits. It’s tumultuous and harsh, but never technical for technical’s sake. Whatever your reasons for listening to it, be it for the music or the atmosphere, you’re going to be satisfied.

…I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit is out now, available at Sundrainer’s Bandcamp. Go say hi on Facebook, too; just be ready for more spirit crushing."

    Invisible Oranges---

"Despite their palpable worship of technical metalcore, with Pig Destroyer at the top of that list, Sundrainer propels above simple imitation through their commanding performance on …I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit. In its breakneck nine-minute length, …IHTBYS produces catchy yet chaotic riffs jammed against each-other without devolving into complete nonsense. The strong vocal performance helps to distinguish their sound, and the guitar and drum interplay leaves little room for criticism. While it’s not the most original music currently on the market, Sundrainer display a lot of potential to grow beyond their influence into something wholly unique.
    Favorite track: “Blackened Veins”

    DeadPulpit.com Writer Chris Morris Notes:
''Sundrainer is a three piece band from Richmond, VA who formed in late 2015, from the looks of things. Sundrainer play a vicious and brutal as fuck style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, death metal, and grindcore within their sound. Musically, Sundrainer can be said to be influenced by bands such as Pig Destroyer, Burnt By The Sun, Coalesce, Napalm Death, Converge, and Fulgora. Since forming in 2015, Sundrainer have released two digital singles titled The Eternal Perspective in January of 2016 and Failure Burden in March of 2016. I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit is the band's debut three song EP, which was released on October 1st, 2016. On I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit, Sundrainer offer up three tracks of brutal and vicious as fuck hardcore, punk, death metal, and grindcore. Overall, I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit makes for a great listen. Highly recommended! Enjoy!"

Even though we have been around since 2003 ( when we were basically just kids) we became active in 2005-2006. Eventually we will upload some our past EP's and LP's.

We have finished writing most of our next 3 EP's and Full Length. No time frame available for hitting the studio, maybe sometime in spring 2018.

Until then enjoy '... I Hope This Breaks Your Spirit''

I recall the look in her eyes, dilate, satisfied. Contemplate the pain in her tears, were they mine. I can still hear her voice speaking softly ''they can't save me now, I cant save myself, I wont save myself'' as her fingers turn porcelain. Ceramic doll painted shades of blue, covered her glass eyes, she won't wake. This world ends not with a bang but with a gentle whisper through shattered glass and blackened veins. She found the peace in death which could not be found in life. I recall the look in her eyes. Satisfied
2.
You are the problem A lightweight in the hospice ward. Last place hand outs, your prize-hand jobs for the bad luck crowd. My ears are bleeding, crunching on concrete. What is the point? Not fit for conversation. You'd be smart to hold your breath when all that you've known is failure. Your burden, burying yourself again. I saw the eyes of god on the corner of kensington and somerset ave and it was clear you are the problem. Tighten the rope Kick the stool Follow the light when the weight gets too heavy, and you turn the blame on yourself, i'll be expecting copies of your final note to frame on my wall
3.
I trust in what I see, reject the sermon I've ripped out my conscience, to see only red, and shade the rest in with black Would you kill? Would you kill for me? Just close your eyes and mark every word With the blood of the prophets Serve and carry the scars of the weak Sewn lips from the start Let us pray, may the eyes of the peasants be torn from there skulls Pray for war, I declare war, so pray for what? Pigs to slaughter, sacrificial lambs, no salvation Can you live with this? Now can you feel my resistance? You walked the line Walk with crippled legs, swallow the sword, slit the vein Kill off the conscience point blank these walls decay Pile up the slaughtered, no angels in sight
